When I first moved here in 1984 I drove out Lake Travis and truly fell in love with Austin. The view from the area around St. Luke’s church was just stunning. In 1988, I looked at lake lots on Lake Travis–found some for around $80,000 with cute little houses. Recently, I took a ride out on a friend’s boat and snapped some pictures. These aren’t $80,000 cute little houses are they–Here’s a few snapshots of how the other half (well ok 1%) live.
amazing how bad these are architecturally. The fourth one down comes close to having architectural qualities, but still has a mishmash of windows and elements that dont make sense.
actually fifth down
We are downsizing – I mean, rightsizing and these huge houses crack me up. Seriously, who really needs it? It’s a lot of walking and yelling from room to room. You know they probably have 2 kids each and can’t find them half the time! I am so looking forward to my new tiny house. Just had to share!
Editor: To each his own eh. I’d love to have a house on the lake…probably not a mansion
