Is the unassuming Chinese restaraunt in the same shopping center as Target on 183 and Ohlen the best Chinese restaraunt in Austin? Maybe, consider the people who love it. Two of my friends are from Shanghai and they love eating there regularly. Heck, their wives send them there to bring home food when they’re not in the mood to cook. When a friend of mine from Singapore, who grew up eating all over Asia, was craving great Chinese food there and he’s addicted. I love the barbeque pork dishes (since I’m not a big fan of duck). The soft, noodle dishes are delicate and you can get real Chinese vegetable here (i tend to point and describe since I can’t always remember the name). The best part, it’s not expensive, you usually get seated and served quickly and the service is fast and friendly.

Yes! Din Ho is my favorite Chinese place in town. It’s the only place I’ve found that even comes close to the SF Chinatown fare I got used to in college. And the duck…. mmmmm!!
