1984 – I moved to Austin, Dell Computer’s started up (wasn’t it called PC’s Limited back then?), and Amy’s Ice Cream opened their doors. All in all, not a bad year for me or Austin.
Amy’s serves ice cream with a unique Austin touch–lots of unique flavors, and zany antics from the servers. Going to Amy’s has been a treat since I moved to Austin. As a college student the location on the drag was a favorite stop. When Blues on the Green was held at the Arboretum getting a scoop of Mexican Vanilla and Strawberries was a must. Their Belgian Chocolate flavor is a must try. Being careful what you eat–they do have a non-fat version of their Mexican Vanillas.
With the temperatures nearing the century mark now is a great time to go check ’em out.
